Tornadoes Possible, Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For All Of NJ, Parts Of PA The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania to close out Memorial Day. The NWS said tornadoes, heavy rain, and wind gusts up to 65 mph were possible through 9 p.m. The first round of storms came early Monday morning, May 27.  National Weather Service As of press time, more than 600 Bedminster, NJ residents were without power, according to JCP&L. It was not immediately clear if that outage was caused by the storm, though. Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region A cold front moving across the region is being accompanied by a rapidly moving line of showers and isolated thunderstorms, some of which are expected to be severe, with damaging winds that could cause power outages. The time frame for storm activity from the system moving from west to east is from around 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, according to the National Weather Service. Tie Everything Down: Dangerous Winds Headed Our Way, Weather Service Says Dangerous winds will pummel nearly all of New Jersey and Rockland County on Monday, the National Weather Service warned. A high wind watch was issued Sunday for all but the state's northwest corner, with a sustained speed of 20 to 30 miles an hour -- and guests as high as 60 mph -- expected.
