Several hospitals across North Jersey were graded for safety by a hospital safety watchdog group. The Leapfrog Group released the Fall 2023 hospital grades on Tuesday, Dec. 5. An expert panel of doctors selects 22 evidence-based measures of patient safety to come up with grades for the nearly 3,000 hospitals and acute care centers nationwide. Bicyclist, 13, By SUV Struck Near Ridgewood/Paramus Border
A young bicyclist was struck by an SUV Saturday night near the Paramus border in Ridgewood. The 13-year-old victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a severe leg injury after the crash on East Ridgewood Avenue near the Wild Duck Pond in Saddle River County Park around 9:30 p.m. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigations Unit investigated along with Ridgewood police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification, which collected evidence. Both 'Families' Mourn Death Of Prominent Wayne Physician Who Touched Lives Across North Jersey
Both his personal and professional families are mourning the death of well-known and respected physician David Vincent Rasa of Wayne, a founding partner of High Mountain Health Medical Group. Rasa, who gave much of his life to helping others, passed away at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood last Thursday surrounded by his wife, Diane, son Michael and daughter Nicole, as well as close relatives and personal friends.
