A 41-year-old Irvington woman was killed in a triple shooting in Newark on Monday evening, May 22, authorities said. Police responded to a shooting on the 900 block of 18th Avenue and found Latoya Miller-Kone suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A Summit man has been charged in the stabbing death of a 28-year-old woman, authorities announced. Ramunas Katkus stabbed Angelika K. Miles dead on the 500 block of Ferry Street in Newark on Friday, Aug. 25 around 3:45 a.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Police ID Driver Killed In Essex County Hit-Run Crash
A 46-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Essex County, authorities said. Felipe Chay, of Orange, was struck on the 100 block of Scotland Road in Orange around 11 p.m. Saturday, May 15, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said.
