Woman Missing In Newark: Police (Photo)
A 79-year-old Newark woman was reported missing on Saturday, June 8, authorities said.
Felisima Alvarez was last seen at noon heading northbound on North 7th Street toward 6th Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Alvarez has been diagnosed with diabetes and memory loss, Fragé said. She speaks only Spanish, Fragé said.
She is 5'3" and weighs 130 lbs. and was last seen wearing a long sleeve plaid shirt, blue jeans with an embroidering design on the back pants pocket, and gray, black, and white sneakers with her hair in a bun, Fragé said.

Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D-NJ) died on Wednesday, April 24 at the age of 65, weeks after suffering a cardiac episode.
Payne, a Newark native, had served in Congress, representing New Jersey's 10th district since 2012, when he won a special election to fill the seat left vacant when his father, Donald Payne, Sr. died.
A graduate of Kean University, he previously served on the Essex County Board of Freeholders and the Newark Municipal Council and was known for his signature bowtie.

Izaak Medina died on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the age of 44 after battling diabetes, according to his obituary.
Born and raised in Brooklyn before moving to Bloomfield, where he had a son, Izaak, Jr. with his partner, Lana, his obituary reads. He worked for Showcase Kitchen and Bath and also as a security guard before he opened his own computer technology company, his obituary reads.

North Jersey native, artist and musician Marc Louis DiCianni died March 30 from complications of diabetes. He was 30.
Born in Denville, DiCianni grew up in Sparta and spent time in California before moving to Burlington, Vermont, his obituary says.
DiCianni was known for his relentless love of all things music. He often attended live shows, composed and performed his own songs and created art inspired by his own music, his memorial says.
