Fire Engulfs Commercial Building In Summit: Authorities
A fire tore through a commercial building in Summit on the evening of Monday, Dec. 2, authorities said. At 7:10 p.m., the Summit Fire Department responded to a fire at 789 Springfield Ave., which houses several businesses, a spokesperson for the city said. On arrival, crews found the fire in the attic space of the building and extinguished it, authorities said. Crews determined the fire was caused by a malfunctioning exterior light fixture, authorities said. Damage was mostly contained to the outside of the building and no injuries reported, authorities said.

Massive Fire Erupts In Essex County Building
A massive fire ripped through a building in Essex County over the weekend. The blaze out late Sunday night, Dec. 1, in a vacant three-story building on the 400 block of Main Street in Orange, formerly home to the Rossi Paint Company, according to Orange Deputy Fire Chief Elvin Padilla Jr. The Orange Fire Department, led by Deputy Chief Rivera, responded to the blaze at approximately 9:30 p.m., encountering heavy flames consuming the top floor of the structure. A Mercer County OB-GYN had his medical license suspended after he was accused of sexually exploiting two longtime patients during routine exams, authorities said. The state Board of Medical Examiners has temporarily suspended the medical license of Dr. Bruce Pierce, Attorney General Matthew Platkin and the state Division of Consumer Affairs said in a news release on Monday, Dec. 2. A 19-year-old hockey player from Bergen County was killed after his car caught fire on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., a Hyundai SUV driven by Carmine Argenziano was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Hope Township when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit multiple trees and then caught fire, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Truck Overturns On Route 278
A truck has overturned on Route 278 in Union County on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 2, authorities said. The tractor trailer overturned on Route 278 westbound near Exit 1 in Linden, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The crash occurred around 1 p.m., authorities said. A 21-year-old man was shot in East Orange on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, authorities said. A 31-year-old Harrison man faces a maximum of 40 years in prison after he was convicted on Friday, Nov. 22 of robbing a person at gunpoint in 2022. A 39-year-old Newark man was convicted on Friday, Nov. 22 of gun possession following a two-day trial, authorities said. Pedestrian Pinned By Car In Morris County Acme Parking Lot: Police
A pedestrian was hospitalized after being run over by a vehicle in the parking lot of a Morris County supermarket Sunday morning, Dec. 1, police said. The vehicle was pulling out of a spot in the Acme parking lot on E. Main Street in Denville, when they drove over the female pedestrian and came to a stop, with the pedestrian underneath the vehicle, Denville Police Capt. Scott Welsch said. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The incident is under investigation.
