Prosecutor: Fugitive Who Shot Trenton Woman Dead Captured In Delaware
U.S. Marshals early Tuesday captured a Trenton man in Delaware who was wanted for shooting and killing a 24-year-old city woman earlier this month. Authorities charged Quasim Hallett, 39, with murder, among other counts, after members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force seized him, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. Hallett shot Quamierah Massey in the head on Hoffman Avenue in Trenton on April 5, Onofri said. She died the next day. Shooting Spree Continues In Paterson, Victim Critical
A victim was critically wounded Sunday night in another in a series of recent shootings in Paterson. The 21-year-old city resident was struck several times on 18th Avenue near the busy intersection of Madison Avenue and Market Street shortly after 9:30 p.m., authorities said. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said he was most recently reported in critical but stable condition. They didn’t say whether anyone was in custody or if they had any suspects.

Three Wounded In One Paterson Shooting, Arrest Made In Another
Three people were shot in Paterson overnight Saturday, shortly after authorities made an arrest in another shooting hours earlier. One of the three victims, a 23-year-old city man, was found shot in the arm in the 400 block of Grand Street shortly before 12:30 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Authorities: Newark Man Killed In Double Irvington Shooting
A 65-year-old man from Newark was killed in a double Irvington shooting, authorities said. Two men were shot near Lyons and Union avenues around 8 p.m. Sunday, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said in a joint release with Irvington's police director. One of the victim's identified as Lawrence Peterson, was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was taken to University Hospital, Stephens said. The investigation is active and ongoing. Man, 23, Dies In Jersey City's 4th Fatal Shooting In Seven Days
A Jersey City man was killed in a shooting Monday -- the city's fourth in seven days, authorities said. Javone Smith, 23, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds in his upper body after the incident near Martin Luther King Drive and Myrtle Avenue just before 6:30 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Hoboken PD: Teen In Custody, Girl Taken To Hospital After Stabbing
A 16-year-old Jersey City girl was taken into custody after authorities said she stabbed a juvenile in Hoboken Wednesday afternoon. The female victim was treated for multiple stab wounds at Jersey City Medical Center following the incident near Jackson and Sixth streets just before 3:45 p.m., Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante said. Hawthorne police were trying to find anyone who witnessed a stabbing on a local street. The 26-year-old victim told police he was walking near Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Goffle Road around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday when the assailant began following him on foot, asking for money, Detective Sgt. A Newark gangster was sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting a photographer urinating on his block, authorities said. Surveillance footage shows Rasheed “O.J.” Olabode, 27, begging Christopher Poole, 26, not to shoot him on April 26, 2018, authorities in Essex County said. A 19-year-old shooting victim showed up Thursday night at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, triggering an investigation into what exactly happened, authorities confirmed Friday. The victim told police someone shot her in her car shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the heavily commercial area of Main Avenue near Burgess Place. The victim in the second deadly shooting to occur in Newark within 24 hours earlier this week has been identified as a 22-year-old South Orange man. Sabor A. Newark Man Found Fatally Shot In Orange
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Orange just after midnight Saturday. Police responding to 67 Central Ave. shortly before 1 a.m. found a man with a gunshot wound sitting in a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 35-year-old Shakur L. A Jersey City man was sentenced to nearly three years in prison for masterminding a scheme to illegally bring firearms from Virginia to New Jersey, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia said Monday.
