Central Jersey Man Swallows Heroin, Busted With 49 Folds, Police Say
A Central Jersey man accused of selling heroin swallowed narcotics in an attempt to hide them from police in Flemington, authorities said.
Jesse Chambers, 44, was approached in a vehicle near Park Avenue in front of Steve’s Food Store in Flemington on Sept. 9, borough police said in a release.
Chambers, of Sayreville, was asked to exit the vehicle after officers saw him attempting to conceal narcotics in his mouth, police said.
Officers’ efforts to get Chambers to spit out the drugs were unsuccessful, and he eventually swallowed them, police said.

Driver Charged After Pedestrian, 67, Is Struck Off Route 46
A 67-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle turning off Route 46 in Clifton, authorities said.
In a statistical oddity, the victim and driver are both from Middlesex County.
The pedestrian, from Sayreville, was struck crossing Conklin Avenue near Fette Ford shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Detective Sgt. Robert Anderson said.
The vehicle, driven by a 22-year-old Iselin man, then mounted a sidewalk, hitting a fire hydrant after hitting the pedestrian while turning off the eastbound highway, the sergeant said.

A former aide at a Central Jersey daycare initially charged with sexually assaulting three children, and then a fourth, has been accused of doing the same to a fifth, authorities said late Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Superhero Schoolhouse Director Charmaine Larkin, 44, was charged with failing to report 20-year-old Kyle Finn's behavior at the Parlin daycare, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief John Zebrowski said.
