An attempted car burglary by a serial thief was stopped in Verona during the overnight hours of Friday, July 26, authorities said. At 3:02 a.m., officers were on patrol when they noticed an interior light on in a driveway on Woodland Avenue, Verona police said in a release. As police approached the vehicle, they observed Hamzah Williams, a 21-year-old Anvel resident inside the front passenger seat, officers said. Man Sexually Assaulted Co-Worker: Secaucus PD
A 48-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, July 24 with sexually assaulting a co-worker in Secaucus in May, authorities said. On Friday, May 3, Christopher White sexually assaulted his co-worker in the back of their truck at a business location on Enterprise Avenue, Secaucus police said. Following an investigation, White was taken into custody in Kearny and charged with sexual assault, authorities said. He was transported to the Hudson County Jail, police said.

A man was shot several times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, July 21, authorities said. At 12:58 a.m., police responded to 260 Bright St. for a report of a man shot, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office, said. A 26-year-old Elizabeth resident was arrested and charged on Friday, July 12, with a deadly assault in 2023, authorities said.
