Authorities have identified the passenger who was killed and the driver seriously injured in the accident that closed a portion of Route 287 southbound on Tuesday evening, July 11.
Felipe Exposito-Sanchez, 24, was driving an Infiniti passenger car when the vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway and improperly passed a Nissan passenger car near milepost 18.4 in Bridgewater around 7:30 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said.

Two Arrested For Stealing Car, Stealing Handgun: Linden PD
Two Newark residents were arrested in Linden on Thursday, July 6 for driving a stolen car and possessing a stolen handgun, police said.
At 8 p.m., officers were alerted to a report of a stolen vehicle traveling south on Route 1, Captain Christopher Guenther of the Linden Police said. The car suddenly came to a stop at Avenue C and Tijohn Cato, 30, and Samiya Medina, 34 were arrested and taken into custody, Guenther said.

Trio Indicted In Month-Long Robbery Spree: Union County Prosecutor
Three men were indicted on Wednesday, June 28 after they committed a spree of robberies and a carjacking in Union and Essex counties, authorities said.
Isaiah Barrett, a 33-year-old Elizabeth resident, Alfred Pierre, a 37-year-old Roselle resident and Daron Thomas, a 32-year-old East Orange resident began their month-long string of crimes last December, committing robberies in Roselle, Linden, Elizabeth and Orange, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said.
In January in Linden, Barrett and Thomas committed both a robbery and a carjacking, prosecutors said.

Toni-Ann Silvestre, an Elizabeth resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 25, according to her obituary.
Silvestre, who worked in the service industry, was known for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh, her obituary reads.
