There was a lucky Powerball player in South Jersey, state Lottery officials said. The prize was worth $50,000. The winning numbers for the Monday, Jan. 8 drawing were 7, 17, 28, 40 and 45 and the Powerball was 2. The Powerplay option was 3x. The winning ticket was sold at the Village Store, 50 Magnolia Road, Pemberton in Burlington County.

A pair of South Jersey pet sitters helped themselves to $100,000 in bling from an out-of-town client, authorities charged. Catherine Walton, 36, of Maple Shade, was charged with theft and Nicholas Eye, 37, of West Deptford, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property, Evesham police said on Thursday, Jan. 4. Missing Teen Prompts Concerns In South Jersey
Police have released an updated photo of a 16-year-old girl missing for two weeks out of South Jersey. Nicolette Marchetti was last seen on Dec. 14, wearing a black shirt, red/black checkered pants, and carrying a black/gold purse. She is possibly in the West Deptford/National Park area. She is approximately 4’9″ tall weighing 100 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Police paperwork obtained by Daily Voice shows a 31-year-old man took a psychedelic drug with his friend, before strangling him over the weekend in South Jersey. Bradley Niesen's girlfriend told authorities that they both did LSD with Tyler Roderick on the 4600 block of High Street in Pennsauken Saturday night, Dec. 23, before Roderick began acting "acting out" and screaming, according to the affidavit for probable cause. A Jersey Cash 5 ticket with a $100,000 jackpot from the Saturday, Dec. 23 drawing was sold in South Jersey. The winning numbers were: 04, 09, 19, 36 and 43 and the XTRA number was 05. Security Guard Stabbed 2X Trying To Break Up Bar Fight In South Jersey: Cops
A 28-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing a security guard at a South Jersey bar this weekend, authorities said. Marcus Brown, of Voorhees, is believed to have stabbed a the security guard who was trying to break up a fight between him and another man at the Chicken or the Egg on Route 70 in Marlton, around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, Evesham police said. South Jersey Man Killed In Collision With Tractor-Trailer: Police
A 72-year-old man from South Jersey was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer, authorities said. John Amendolia Jr. of Hammonton died in the crash at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Winslow Township police. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Egg Harbor Road and Old Forks Road, police said. Amendolia was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation and there are no charges at this time.

Thousands Without Power In Central Jersey Due To Wind, Downed Lines
Widespread power outages were fueled by high winds and flooding, authorities said. As of 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, Monmouth County was the hardest hit with more than 15,500 homes and businesses without power, according to Jersey Central Power and Light. Ocean County reported 2,420 without power; Middlesex County experienced 1,109 outages; Mercer County had 955 outages and Burlington County had 90. There also were scattered outages in Camden and Gloucester counties, PSE&G reported, saying there were 427 outages across South Jersey.

NJ Porch Pirate Rams Officer With Vehicle, Speeds Off: Cops
A porch pirate who rammed a South Jersey police officer with her vehicle while fleeing from him is being sought on multiple charges, officials say. Police spotted Ebony E. Gomez's white Dodge Journey on Jarvis Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township around 1:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, local police said. The vehicle had been identified in a series of package thefts, and so officers conducted a motor vehicle stop. The license plate, NJ-F64PSY, was listed as stolen.
