Jersey Shore Man Killed In Garden State Parkway Crash, Woman Injured, Police Say
An Ocean County man was killed in a crash when his SUV drove off the Garden State Parkway and he wound up ejected from the vehicle, authorities said. Troopers responded to mile marker 68.2 in Barnegat at around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, according to state police. George Francis, 34, of Lanoka Harbor, was driving an SUV south on the parkway when the vehicle went off the right side of the road. Two men wanted for beating attendants during a two-day spree of quick-stop armed gas station robberies in three New Jersey counties were captured by federal agents, authorities said. Ex-con Ahmad Singletary, 24, and Joseph Young, 26, both of Newark, committed three of the robberies last Sept. 5, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said. Daily Voice has obtained details about the crash that killed an 18-year-old Monmouth University student last week. Madison Alfano of Staten Island, NY, lost control of her car and hit the driver's side of another vehicle on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville around 7:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Couple Killed In Parkway Crash With Snowplow
A man and woman from Lakewood were killed after crashing into a snowplow truck on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, authorities said. State police said an SUV driven by 29-year-old Eliyahu Naydavoud was heading north on the parkway in Tinton Falls around 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15. A snowplow truck was also traveling north and tried to turn into an emergency vehicle U-turn area near mile marker 104.2. Naydavoud's SUV crashed into the side of the snowplow. A crash on the Garden State Parkway had traffic backed up for more than two miles in Brick Township in the afternoon on Friday, Jan. 12. The NJDOT says the crash happened southbound on the parkway near exit 91 B-A just before 3:30 p.m. Two lanes of traffic were closed as crews responded to the scene.
