South Jersey Man Charged With Shooting Wife Will Remain Jailed: Prosecutor
A Cumberland County man arrested for shooting his wife will remain jailed while awaiting trial, according to the county prosecutor. Superior Court Judge Cristen P. D'Arrigo ruled on Wednesday, Nov. 16 that Edwin D. Ramos-Rosado, 39, of Millville must remain behind bars, Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. He is accused of killing Ramy Garcia, 35, at their North 4th Street residence on Nov. 2, authorities said. Witnesses told police they saw the couple struggling over a firearm.

A 31-year-old man Atlantic County man who had a standoff with New Jersey State Police pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. James Weinerman, of Weymouth Township. pleaded guilty Wednesday, Nov. 2 to two counts of the second-degree charge, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Federal authorities have seized a carjacker who they said dragged a woman from a car at gunpoint, fired a shot in the air and pointed the weapon at the man she was with outside a South Brunswick motel. A 20-year-old man from Philadelphia was arrested with a loaded handgun in Atlantic City, authorities said. Rahmiere Shaw-Floyd was with a group of others when police thought they observed him with a gun. Shaw-Floyd exited the boardwalk and went onto the beach at New York Avenue where he was stopped by the responding officers. A 27-year-old woman from Philadelphia was arrested for firing a handgun in Atlantic City. On Monday, July 25, at 5:21 p.m, Atlantic City police patrol officers responded to Indiana and Pacific avenues for a report of shots fired. Man Nabbed With Handgun Following Trenton Traffic Stop, Police Say
A man pulled over in Trenton was charged after being found with a handgun and a spent shell casing, authorities said. James J. Jackson was stopped near Wood and Stockton Streets on Friday, July 1, Trenton Police said in a release on Wednesday, July 13. During the stop, officers saw a spent shell casing and asked Jackson to step out of the vehicle, police said. A follow-up search of Jackson’s vehicle allegedly turned up a handgun. Jackson was placed under arrested and charged appropriately. The police department’s Violent Crimes Unit also assisted.

A Newark man was arrested after a dispute in which he allegedly brandished a loaded handgun at a girlfriend in Atlantic City, authorities said. At 12:19 p.m., on April 30, Atlantic City police responded to the beach block of Park Place for a report of a domestic dispute inside a vehicle. The 9-1-1 caller also reported that the male suspect was in possession of a handgun and had threatened to use it against the victim.
