Atlantic City Honors Mississippi Civil Rights Leaders At 1964 DNC With Historic Marker As Chicago hosts the Democratic National Convention, Atlantic City honored a historic civil rights moment that happened when the party's nomination event was held at Boardwalk Hall about 60 years ago. Atlantic City leaders unveiled a Mississippi Freedom Trail Marker historical marker at Kennedy Plaza on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The plaque is the trail's first one outside of the state of Mississippi. Harris Taps Gov. Tim Walz As Running Mate As Swing State Tour Starts Ahead Of Convention Vice President Kamala Harris has ended weeks of speculation after naming Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday, Aug. 6.  The 60-year-old Walz was a seemingly late entrant to the "veepstakes" but gained popularity after several media appearances went viral.  The chair of the Democratic Governor's Association, Walz was a US Congressman from 2007 to 2019. A former high school social studies teacher, he's served 24 years in the Army National Guard. Right-Wing Anti-Vax, Anti-Mask Radio Show Host From Passaic County Dies Of Covid-19 Passaic County native Bob Enyart, a self-proclaimed homophobic anti-abortion pastor and national talk radio host who railed against COVID-19 vaccines and masks, has died of the virus. Enyart, 62, who lived in Prospect Park, attended St. Anthony grade school in Hawthorne and was graduated from Manchester Regional High School, was a polarizing figure over more than two decades on the air from his adopted Colorado.
