Police Department In Westchester Welcomes Furry New Four-Legged Officer The New Rochelle Police Department has welcomed a new four-legged officer to the force. Jodie, a year and a half old German shepherd, was recently welcomed to the New Rochelle Police Department after graduating from the K9 Basic Patrol School in Yonkers. Jodie and his handler, Officer Gary Moss will join the department’s Critical Incident Unit’s Team B following 17 weeks of training. Police in New Rochelle have been utilizing police K9 Units since 1997.
