Inspector General Brendan McGrath's report revealed that the school incorrectly budgeted and anticipated state aid that simply wasn't coming for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years, LoHud.com reported.
In addition to failing to understand the budgetary process, the Yonkers finance workforce is understaffed. The smaller Syracuse school system has 51 employees dedicated to finance while the Yonkers finance staff consists of only 31 employees, LoHud.com said.
