YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers Police Department is launching a new program designed to build trust between police officers and the city's youth, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.

Officials are hoping to hear the concerns younger members of the community have in an effort to break down barriers and eliminate misunderstandings, News 12 Hudson Valley reported. 

The new program will hold its first official meeting in January, News 12 Hudson Valley said.
