YONKERS, N.Y. Anthony Ruggiero, formerly of Yonkers, died Aug. 4 in Florida. He was 74.
Ruggiero was born Nov. 20, 1937, in Italy. He owned several businesses before ending his career working for the City of Yonkers. A member of Teamsters Local 456, he retired in September of 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; a daughter, Margaret; three sons, Michael, Anthony and Edward; three brothers, Dominick, Ray and Eddie; two sisters, Grace Vitiello and Ida Dolgetta; and four grandchildren. His brother, Joseph Ruggiero, predeceased him.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at F. Ruggiero and Sons Funeral Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
