YONKERS, N.Y. Angela Minnecola died Aug. 28 at her home in Yonkers. She was 101.
Born Dec. 17, 1910, in Sarno, Italy, Minnecola was a daughter of Lucia and Alfonso Vitolo. She came to New York in February 1912. Minnecola was a true matriarch and peerless homemaker, her family said.
She was married to Joseph Minnecola. After her husband's death in 1968, she worked in retail sales at Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers for 15 years. She enjoyed spending summers in California and traveling with loved ones, always maintaining a home in Yonkers.
She is survived by two daughters, Edith (Robert) Frascone, of Yonkers, and Antonia (Zakir Hussain) Minnecola, of San Anselmo, Calif., and Mumbai, India; a sister, Antonette Litrenta; a brother, Michael Vitolo; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lucille Minnecola.
Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, at Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville.
