Four Found Dead In Westchester Home Four people were found dead in a home in Northern Westchester on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 5. Police were called to perform a welfare check at 1:50 p.m. by the Pleasantville Union Free School District when two of those found dead, students in the district, did not show up for school. Science Classroom Smell Forces Evacuation At Pleasantville High School Pleasantville High School was evacuated out of precaution on Friday morning due to an unusual smell in one of the science labs. School officials notified parents of the evacuation at approximately 9:30 a.m., transporting them temporarily to the Pleasantville Middle School. Emergency crews were called to the school and gave the “all clear” less than an hour later, allowing the students to return to the building without further incident.

Threat Leads To Two-Hour Delay At Pleasantville Schools Pleasantville schools opened two-hour late Wednesday after a threat was made by a student, according to Pleasantville Police. Police were notified around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday by a school district administrator of a threat that a student made against Pleasantville Middle School.  Police said they interviewed the student and his parents and deemed the threat not be credible, police said. "The Pleasantville Police Department will continue to cooperate with school officials to ensure a safe environment for students and staff at all three local campuses," police said in a statement.
