NY Utility Companies Agree To Pay $86M In Settlements For Failed Isaias Response The failed response by utility companies in New York during Tropical Storm Isaias is going to prove costly. Terms of settlements totaling $86.2 million have been agreed upon with the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) for alleged violations committed as the storm swept across the state. Motorist Killed When Car Crashes Into Pole In Hudson Valley A 25-year-old man was killed in an overnight single-vehicle crash in Dutchess County. According to New York State Police, Amilcar De Martinez Palma, of Poughkeepsie, died around 1 a.m. Tuesday near Stonykill Road in the town of Wappinger.
