WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.. – Westchester-based newspaper publisher Sam Zherka pleaded guilty to federal charges as part of a plea deal on Thursday night, according to reports.

Zherka plead guilty to 30 charges, including tax fraud and submitting false loan applications.

He faced a maximum sentence of 300 years had he not pleaded guilty, according to News 12 Westchester.

Under the terms of the plea deal, Zherka will serve a five-year sentence.
