Saturday’s $361 million Powerball jackpot produced winning tickets that included a million dollar ticket sold in Brooklyn. But because no one won the grand prize, the jackpot increased $54 million, leaving Wednesday’s jackpot at an estimated $403 million, according to New York State Lottery officials.
According to lottery officials, Powerball players should double-check their tickets, even if they don’t win the jackpot. There is a million dollar prize for matching the first five numbers. The chances of winning the grand prize are approximately one in 292,201,338, while the chance of matching the first five numbers is one in 11,688,054.
The latest winning numbers were 3-7-9-31-33, with a Powerball of 20. The next drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. If no one claims the jackpot prize, it will continue to grow and there will be another drawing on Saturday. Those interested in trying their luck can purchase tickets up until 10 p.m. on the night of a drawing.
