WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Members of the National Transportation Safety Board "go team" arrived in Westchester on Wednesday morning to investigate the fatal collision between a Metro-North train and a Jeep in Mount Pleasant Tuesday night.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino said Wednesday morning the train would remain on the tracks while the investigation is conducted and said that would last "likely through Wednesday."
Astorino said families of the six victims in the accident will be gathering at the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office.
"All but one of the bodies is beyond recognition," Astorino said, adding dental records for victims are being gathered.
