The accident closed Exit 23 as police searched on ground and air for the 28-year-old suspect, Daily Voice reported.
Geovanny Flores, 28, of Hall Avenue in White Plains was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, a felony; reckless endangerment, second degree, and reckless driving, police said.
Flores was found in the village of Mamaroneck about 4:30 a.m. and taken into custody, according to police. He was booked at county police headquarters and held overnight pending arraignment today in White Plains City Court.
The drivers of the two other vehicles both suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, according to police. One was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and the other to White Plains Hospital Center.
A vehicle traveling northbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway exited the parkway at Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains at a high rate of speed at approximately 10:58 p.m. on Thursday, police said. The driver lost control at the bottom of the ramp and collided with another vehicle that was traveling on Mamaroneck Avenue, police said.
The driver then made a U-turn and attempted to flee the scene by driving the wrong way up the exit ramp and collided with a second vehicle while doing so, police said.
The driver, whose vehicle had overturned following the second collision, then fled on foot from the area, according to police. He was found after an extensive search that included county police canines and the county police Aviation Unit helicopter. The county police were also assisted in the search by officers from White Plains, Mamaroneck, Scarsdale and Harrison.
