Accidents, Stuck Vehicles, Metro-North Delays Reported In Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Icy conditions and several accidents were reported on Monday morning as the latest winter storm has arrived in the area.

As much as 6 inches of snow has already fallen in parts of Northern Westchester and Putnam with a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain falling in Central and Southern Westchester.

Icy conditions were reported on the Hutchinson River Parkway between Webster Avenue in New Rochelle (Exit 16) and Mill Road in Eastchester (Route 18), with a car stuck near Exit 17 at 7:30 a.m.

A disabled vehicle blocked the left lane blocked on westbound I-84 between Route 121 (Exit 21) in North Salem and I-684 (Exit 20) in Southeast in an incident reported at 7:45 a.m.

The exit ramp to Route 9 North near the border of Putnam and Westchester at Routes 202/6/35 is was closed with a bus reported stuck in a 7:30 a.m. incident.

An serious multi-vehicle accident was reported on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway at McLean Avenue at 8:30 a.m and the exit ramp to the southbound Saw Mill Parkway South was closed at the Cross County Parkway.

The exit ramp to northbound Sprain Brook Parkway is closed at Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers with reports of vehicles being stuck.

Delays of an hour have been reported on the Metro-North New Haven Line. Delays of 15 minutes have been reported on the Harlem and Hudson lines.

Bee-Line buses and Paratransit vehicles are experiencing 30 minute delays.
