A radar image of storm activity from 1:30 p.m. Wednesday is shown above. The most severe storms are marked in red and orange.
"Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects," the National Weather Service said in a Special Weather Statement at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, noting that current storms now moving through "may intensify."
Dangerous wind gusts between 40 and 60 miles per hour are possible with the most severe storms, along with the drenching rain, rumbles of thunder, as well possible small hail.
Storm activity could continue at ends through Wednesday evening as the storm is accompanying a strong cold front.
After it pushes through by late Wednesday evening, Thursday, June 15 will be the pick of the week weather-wise, with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature in the upper 70s.
But it won't last long with more unsettled weather expected on Friday, June 16, and Saturday, June 17.
