Man Sentenced To Life For Ordering Shooting Witness To Be Killed In Westchester
A leader of the G-Shine Bloods gang in Westchester with previous felony convictions received the maximum sentence for ordering a shooting witness be killed outside an area bar. Mount Vernon resident Jason Garcia was sentenced as a persistent felony offender to 20 years to life in state prison for a shooting outside the Garden Bar in Mount Vernon in 2016 and later conspiring to murder an eyewitness. A Northern Westchester man has been sentenced to prison time after admitting to fatally shooting a 22-year-old man two years ago. Peekskill resident Demetrius Bogan, 20, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for killing 22-year-old Khalil Lyons in Peekskill in July 2018, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced. A member of the Yonkers Blood Hounds gang has been charged with attempted murder after shooting an area homeowner with his own gun during a botched burglary. Yonkers resident Luis Sanchez, 28, was indicted for attempted murder and multiple other charges in the April shooting of a man during an attempted burglary on Western Avenue. Westchester Man Sentenced For Promoting, Possessing Child Porn
A Westchester County man has been sentenced after admitting to possessing and promoting child pornography earlier this year. Pelham resident Danny Manich, 62, has been sentenced to 10 years of sex offender probation after he pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court to one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and two counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child dating back to two incidents last year. A Westchester man will spend time behind bars after being sentenced for identity theft in an elaborate ATM scheme. Mount Vernon resident Jelani Knox, 29, was sentenced to a term of between two and four years in prison for identity theft in a scheme that included forging checks for deposit at Mount Vernon and Pelham bank branches. Westchester Man Arraigned On Charges Of Attempted Murder, Assault
A Westchester man has been arraigned for a shooting that occurred in May. Prosecutors believe that 29-year-old Ramiro Ulises Escobar Gonzalez was ‘talking over a beer’ around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 outside of 25 Waterfront Place in Port Chester. Gonzalez then pulled out a revolver and fired three shots at the victim, one of which hit him in the chest, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. said.
