In a groundbreaking trial, a court-certified support dog named Eddie helped a young child testify against former NYPD detective Wilson Frias, leading to his conviction on charges of child sexual abuse in Westchester County.
Frias, 52, of Briarcliff Manor, was sentenced to five years in prison and ten years of post-release supervision after a jury found him guilty of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

A man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl, causing a pregnancy.
New Rochelle resident Braulio Ramirez, age 49, was sentenced to 17 years in state prison, with 20 years of post-release supervision, on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Between October 2019 and September 2021, starting when the minor was 11 years old, Ramirez subjected the victim to intercourse and other sexual acts on multiple occasions, which resulted in the victim becoming pregnant, said Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah.

Cuomo Could Face Criminal Prosecution If Sexual Abuse Allegations Are True, Biden Says
President Joe Biden is urging for patience as the investigation into allegations of sexual harassment by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo continues, though he said he should resign if proven to be true.
