Roads Expected To Reopen In Westchester Following Flooding, Hochul Says Several busy main roads in the Hudson Valley are expected to soon reopen following a severe storm system that dropped several inches of rain and resulted in historic flooding, officials said.  The expected road reopenings were announced on Wednesday afternoon, July 12 by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who said that they will follow several days of intense repair work.  The closures were caused by a severe, slow-moving rainstorm that arrived in the region on Sunday, July 9, and dropped more than eight inches of rain in parts of the Hudson Valley.  Hudson Valley roadways expe…

Ex-Owner Of Hudson Valley Restaurants Accused Of Raping Minor A former restaurateur who owned a pair eateries in the Hudson Valley is facing charges for allegedly raping a minor. An Ulster County grand jury charged Robert Bruno, 58, of Newburgh, in a seven-count indictment for allegedly repeatedly sexually abusing at least one minor, the DA’s Office announced. It is unclear how many victims he had. Specifically, Bruno is charged with three counts of second-degree rape, and two counts each of third-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act. Tappan Zee Constructors announced that contractors will be continuing roadway improvements near the bridge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 12, requiring a single-lane closure.
