New York State Police are searching for a teen who allegedly stole over $1,490 in merchandise from a Home Depot location. The incident took place at a Home Depot on East Main Street in the town of Cortlandt, police said, and 19-year-old Elijah M. Garcia fled the scene in a black Nissan Altima with a possible license plate number of JJK3385. Garcia's last known residence was near Lafayette Avenue in the Hunts Point area of the Bronx, police said. He stands at 5-foot-1, weighs approximately 130 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. An investigation has led to the arrest of a 57-year-old man who is accused of stealing a Black Lives Matter yard sign from a private home in Northern Westchester. On Tuesday, Sept.15 at approximately 7 p.m., New Castle Police arrested Vincent LaDuca, of Chappaqua, on one count of petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Police are investigating a theft from an unlocked vehicle in Northern Westchester. Officers responded to Washington Street in Peekskill for a report of a robbery around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, said Peekskill Police Lt. Jack Galusha. After a brief interview with the victim police found that a wallet with approximately $1,000 had been taken from inside the unlocked vehicle, Galusha said. Know them? The New Rochelle Police Department issued an alert for a pair of suspects who allegedly stole several cell phones from the Sprint store on Main Street. More than $350,000 worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from two apartments in Trump Tower over the weekend. Police in Manhattan are investigating the reports of two thefts inside apartments on the 42nd and 59th floor of the building. A former postal employee from Orange County working in Northern Westchester has been sentenced after admitting to stealing thousands of stamps that he then sold online for a profit. Antonio Pinheiro of Westtown pleaded guilty on Monday, March 4 to stealing thousands of dollars worth of stamps from the U.S. Post Office in Peekskill while he was employed there.
