Hudson Valley Woman Accused Of Setting House On Fire A Hudson Valley woman has been arrested for allegedly setting a house on fire that displaced a family. The Rockland County incident took place on Wednesday at a home in the village of Airmont. The fire was quickly extinguished by Tallman Fire Department with mutual aid from firefighters from: Hillcrest Monsey Sloatsburg Spring Valley Mahwah  No one was injured during the fire, which is believed to have been started intentionally, said Det. Fiery I-87 Crash Closes Roadway, Knocks Out Power For Some Area Residents A car struck a utility pole bursting into flames in a fiery crash on a busy stretch of the New York State Thruway. It happened in Rockland County in Montebello in the area of Airmont Road at the I-87 overpass after the vehicle slammed into the pole sparking a fire, around 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, Ramapo Police said. The Tallman fire department also responded to the scene  The area had to be closed for several hours overnight, but reopened around 6:30 a.m., Monday, April 5. The crash also caused a large number of Montebello residents to lose power.

First responders in Ramapo were dispatched to the residence on Feller Court in the Village of Airmont shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 where there was a report of a large, tall tree that had uprooted and struck the household. Upon arrival, members of the Ramapo Police Department and Tallman Fire Department found that the tree had gone through a portion of the roof through a section of the attic on the side of the house after uprooting. ID Released For Man Killed In ATV Accident A man found dead beside an ATV in Harriman State Park by a father and his children, also riding an ATV, has been identified by police. Andrew Columbia, 58, of Suffern, was found around noon on Sunday, Jan. 12, on Regis Court in Suffern, according to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police. The only access point into the woods for first responders was behind 8 Regis Court in the Village of Montebello. Three people found unconscious by a family member in a home in the village of Airmont are still hospitalized. The incident took place around 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, when the Ramapo Police Department responded to the home at 4 Bolger Lane in Airmont, said Ramapo Police Lt. Chris Franklin. Once on the scene, four officers and EMS personnel found three female residents, ages 14, 16, and 54.
