Domestic Dispute Involving Firearms Leads To Multi-Agency Response In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man was charged after he allegedly tied up and beat his wife and then held police at bay for more than eight hours after she escaped. The incident began in Rockland County around 9 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 on Fillmore Drive in Stony Point. Bones Found On Hiking Trail In Hudson Valley, Police Say An investigation was conducted after bones were discovered on a Hudson Valley hiking trail. The bones were found in Orange County in the area of Route 218 on Saturday, Oct. 15 on a trail in the town of Cornwall at Storm King State Park.  According to Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard, after the discovery, the department contacted the state park police as well as the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office for examination. "I'm 99 percent the bones belong to an animal," Hazard said. "I see these types of bones all of the time when I'm out hunting." Park police will investigate. Hazard…

Man Found Dead On Park Trail In Hudson Valley A 73-year-old Hudson Valley man was found dead, apparently of natural causes, in the vicinity of a hiking trail in the area. The resident of Philipstown, in Putnam County, was found on Monday, May 17 at the Schunnemunk State Park, located in Orange County, in the Town of Cornwall, said NYS Parks officials.  State Park Police, NYS Park Forest Rangers, Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office, Town of Cornwall Police, Salisbury Mills FD, Cornwall FD, DEC forest rangers, and local EMS all responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

Tarrytown 22-Year-Old Rescued After Falling From Cliff While Hiking A 22-year-old Westchester man was rescued after falling more than 20 feet off a cliff while hiking at Nyack Beach State Park. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when the Tarrytown man went off a trail, fell and was knocked unconscious, said Randy Simon, spokesman for the state Parks Services.
