Major Water Main Break Affects Service Throughout Much Of White Plains Officials are warning residents that they may encounter brown water following a major water main break that affected service throughout an entire city in Westchester.  The water break happened in the downtown area of White Plains on Wednesday, March 27 around 11:30 a.m., according to White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach.  The large break affected water service for residents throughout the city. Water Shutdown Scheduled For Stretch Of Croton-On-Hudson Homes There will be a temporary road closure and lack of water service in Croton-on-Hudson on Thursday as crews work to replace equipment in the area. The Croton-on-Hudson Water Department will be replacing a valve along Maple Street on Oct. 4, prompting a water shut off in the area of Maple Street and Old Post Road South. The shutdown is scheduled for approximately 7 p.m. on Thursday, and should last approximately two hours.
