Blaze Completely Engulfs Car In Westchester: Photos Thanks to firefighters, a blaze that engulfed a vehicle in Northern Westchester was quickly put out before anyone could get hurt.  The fire happened in Briarcliff Manor on Saturday morning, Feb. 24, when a car went up in flames next to a building in the village, according to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department.  Crews from the department soon arrived and made quick work of the blaze.  No injuries were reported, firefighters said. Former Briarcliff Resident Burt Erickson Passes Away at 100 Burt Erickson, 100 years young, formerly of Briarcliff Manor and Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2023 at the Veteran’s Association Nursing Home in Montrose, where he received wonderful care. Burt was born on March 8, 1923 in Chicago, the son of Frances and Burton Erickson. He was the oldest of three children. He was predeceased in death by his sister Gertrude “Trudie” Hodges and his brother Jerome “Jerry” Erickson. Burt married the love of his life Rita Marie Jerome on Dec. 27, 1952.
