SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. A new public service campaign seeking to highlight the issue of education in this year's presidential campaign features Sleepy Hollow High School students and faculty.
The Don't Forget Ed campaign is sponsored by the College Board, a nonprofit organization that operates the SAT test, Advanced Placement program and helps students connect to colleges. The campaign begins this June and will continue until the November elections.
With the help of students, parents, teachers, administrators and people like you, we'll call for the candidates to make education a priority, the College Board said on its campaign website.
Students, teachers and administrators participated in a public service announcement filmed at the high school, including Assistant Principal Anthony Baxter and teachers Leila Madani, Jason Choi and Carlos Matute. The College Board paid a sitting fee to film the school, which will be used to help underwrite next year's College Tour, the school announced Wednesday.
The PSA notes that for 100 ninth-graders, only 70 will graduate from high school. Of that number, 44 will go to college. Only 21 students from the original 100 will earn a bachelor's degree.

There's no issue that's more important than education, Baxter says in the PSA. Non-educators tend to think that education's always going to be there if we just wish it so, and sometimes we can't just wish it so.
Physics teacher Madani said education is important to the future of the country.
We need to hear our politicians speak more about it, she said in the PSA. We need to hear the constituents demand that the politicians speak more about it.
