Yonkers resident Raheem Nelson, 23, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty last year to multiple counts of assault in 2018, the District Attorney announced.
On Aug. 7, 2018, Nelson encountered a man outside a Yonkers apartment building and stabbed him with a screwdriver.
While injured, Nelson’s victim made his way into a nearby building, and a third party called police.
Nelson’s victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx with life-threatening injuries that he survived. Nelson was caught on a surveillance camera that led police to him.
He was arrested on, Aug. 9, 2018. Scarpino noted that Nelson also allegedly stabbed his victim with a knife on July 11.
Additional details regarding the knife stabbing were not released by investigators.
Nelson has been detained in Westchester County Jail since his arrest on Aug. 9, 2018.
