Irvington Man Named Chair of Phelps Hospital Board

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y.—An Irvington resident has been named the new Chair of the Phelps Memorial Hospital Center’s Board of Directors.

Andrew Merryman has been a member of the board since March 2007. During that time, he has been a member of several committees and been a board member of the Robin’s Nest child care center at Phelps, according to a press release from Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

Merryman has lived and raised his three children with his wife Mary in Irvington for almost 30 years. He is a graduate of Trinity College (’64) and an MBA graduate from Columbia University (’69). Merryman founded the consulting firm Brecker & Merryman in 1973. That firm was later sold to Manpower, Inc. in 2000, and Merryman stayed on to act as their executive vice president and deputy chairman of the consulting subsidiary The Empower Group.
