Emergency crews in Suffolk County were called just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, with reports that a worker had fallen in Huntington Station, along Park Avenue near East 5th Street. The man, identified as Edis Rene Maldonado, of Copiague, fell approximately 20 feet from an extended bucket truck while trimming trees around utility lines, Suffolk County Police said. Suffolk County Man Dies After Being Electrocuted, Police Say A Long Island man has died after being electrocuted when he got out of his dump truck after it came into contact with overhead electrical wires. Luigi T. Cicillini, age 18, of Selden, was electrocuted when he exited the truck around 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the East Coast Mines and Material on Lewis Road in East Quogue, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police. Suffolk Man Seriously Injured After Being Electrocuted, Falling From Ladder Police are investigating the circumstances in which a Long Island man fell off a ladder after being electrocuted while working on a house. Lawrence Sirulnick, age 56, was on a ladder in Smithtown outside of 37 Juniper Ave. when he touched an electrical wire and fell approximately 15 feet to the ground just before 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, Suffolk County Police said. Sirulnick, of Smithtown, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, at Paraco Gas, located on Corbin Avenue in Bay Shore, said the Suffolk County Police. The explosion occurred when the two employees were filling propane tanks when a small explosion, police said. ID Released For Suffolk County Cemetery Worker Killed In Accident Police detectives investigating the death of a cemetery employee who was killed while working in a grave have released the victim's identity. Rodwin Allicock, age 42, of Coram, was at the bottom of a grave, which was more than 7 feet deep when the incident happened at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai when the grave collapsed at approximately 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, said the Suffolk County Police. Contractor Falls Through Skylight While Working On Roof In Suffolk A Long Island contractor working on a roof was injured after falling through a skylight. The incident took place around 3:55 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, in East Patchogue, said the Suffolk County Police. According to police, the contractor fell through a glass skylight over the kitchen at The Mediterranean Manor, located at 303 E. Main St. He fell approximately 12 feet. He was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening injuries.  He suffered possible fractures to his arm and wrist.

Long Island Worker Killed After Being Struck By 18-Wheel Truck A 39-year-old paving-crew worker was killed after being accidentally struck by an asphalt truck on Long Island. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10:15 a.m. in Freeport, Nassau County Police said. According to detectives, the male victim, Charles Grange Jr. of Massapequa, who was part of the road-paving crew working in the vicinity of Guy Lombardo Avenue and Grant Street, was accidentally struck by an accompanying 18-wheel asphalt truck, causing him to suffer fatal injuries.  Grange was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
