A young man succumbed to his injuries, and two other people remain injured, following a head-on collision on a Long Island parkway, state police said.
It happened on Thursday, Aug. 24 at approximately 2:45 p.m. on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead, according to New York State Police.

Farmingville Man Charged With DWI/Drugs After Fatal Centereach Crash, Police Say
A Long Island man has been charged with driving while high on drugs after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash that killed a 21-year-old.
The incident took place in Centereach around 5 p.m., March 19 on Middle Country Road, near Wood Road.
Christopher Guzman, age 39, of Farmingville, was driving a 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on Middle Country Road, his truck struck the side of an eastbound 2011 Toyota Camry, driven by a 66-year-old Coram woman, said the Suffolk County Police.

Two people were nabbed with a loaded Glock-19 during a traffic stop on Long Island.
The incident took place in Inwood around 12:50 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 on Burnside Avenue.
According to Nassau County detectives, officers on patrol spotted a 2021 Toyota failing to maintain its lane while traveling eastbound on Burnside Avenue.
