BMW Recalls More Than 900,000 Vehicles Due To Engine Fire Risk
BMW announced a third recall of more than 900,000 cars and SUVs due to an ongoing faulty valve heater that has been known to potentially cause engine fires. The recall covers 917,106 vehicles that are equipped with a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve heater, which can cause a short-circuit, which could potentially lead to fires or malfunctions. Woman Walking Across Long Island Intersection Struck, Killed By SUV, Police Say
A woman died from injuries she suffered after being hit by an SUV at an intersection on Long Island. The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 in Hempstead. Rosie Cubies, 64, while walking at the intersection of Barr Avenue and Van Cott Avenue was struck by a 2017 Honda Pilot that was traveling south on Clinton Street, Nassau County Police said. Toyota Recalls 14K Vehicles Due To Faulty Backup Cameras
Toyota is recalling more than 14,000 RAV4 models due to potentially faulty rearview cameras. The company announced that it is recalling 14,215 of its 2019 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid SUVs because their rearview cameras may not activate when the car is put in Reverse, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The vehicles subject to recall were produced between May 27 and July 27 this year.
