Repeat Thieves Busted Prowling Cars In Neighborhood On Long Island, Police Say Four suspected thieves are behind bars after they were allegedly busted prowling parked cars in a neighborhood on Long Island, authorities said. Officers were called at around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 with reports that several people were seen going through parked cars in Wantagh, on Lawrence Drive, according to Nassau County Police. When officers arrived, they found a stolen Jaguar that matched the suspects’ vehicle description. It had been involved in an earlier crash on Oakfield Avenue in North Bellmore, police said.
