Suffolk Man Charged With DWI In Upstate Stop
A Long Island man was busted for alleged impaired driving during an upstate stop as part of a Halloween crackdown on drunk drivers. Between Thursday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 3, local, county and state police agencies in upstate New York teamed to increase DWI checkpoints and saturation patrols. Among those to be busted for allegedly driving while impaired was 60-year-old Islip resident Leon Humphrey, who was charged with DWI and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.
