Teens In Stolen Vehicle Caught After Attempting To Break Into Long Island Home, Police Say Two teenagers in a stolen vehicle were caught after attempting to break into a home on Long Island, police said. Officers responded to a 911 call for a burglary in progress in North New Hyde at 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, Nassau County Police said. Upon arrival, officers were met by homeowners who stated they had received a motion alert on their video camera and observed two people walking up their driveway.  The homeowner went outside and saw a subject attempting to open a house window, according to police.
