Suffolk Man Walking In Roadway Struck, Killed By Jeep
A 55-year-old Long Island man was killed after being struck by a Jeep overnight.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 4 at about 9:20 p.m. in Brentwood.
Nelson Gonzalez, of Brentwood, was walking in the roadway on Crooked Hill Road, near McNair Street, when he was struck by a 2006 Jeep traveling northbound, Suffolk County Police said.
Gonzalez was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Jeep, Delmi Rodriguez, 32, of Brentwood, was not injured.
