The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23, in the Fire Island Inlet near Overlook Beach in. Babylon. According to Suffolk County Police, two men were riding a Yamaha Jet Ski in the Fire Island Inlet, when the vehicle became disabled. Three Boaters Rescued Off Sandbar On Fire Island Inlet In Babylon Three boaters were rescued off Long Island after their boat became stuck on a sandbar. The three boaters were rescued around 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19 in the Fire Island Inlet, off Democrat Point, in Babylon. According to the Suffolk County Police, Andre Thchelischeff, the captain of a 36-foot Bennetaue sailboat, put out a distress alert on a VHF channel after the boat struck a sandbar and became disabled.  There had been a small craft advisory in effect at the time due to high seas.  Marine Kilo and Marine Juliet from the Suffolk County Police responded along with the office…

Man Rescued After Kayak Flips In Great South Bay A kayaker found himself in a perilous position in the Great South Bay after overturning and struggling to get back to shore without assistance, police said. Suffolk County Police Marine officers on patrol near Buoy 7 in the Fire Island Inlet found an overturned kayak in the water at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, without its operator in the area.
