Man Fleeing Scene Of Hauppauge Crash Struck, Killed By 18-Wheeler, Police Say A man who was allegedly fleeing the scene of a single-car crash on Long Island was hit and killed by an 18-wheel truck. The incident took place in Hauppauge around 2:20 p.m., Wednesday, May 25. Joseph Suozzo, age 60, of Jupiter, Florida, was driving a 2006 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Bridge Road when he veered off the road and struck a tree, said the Suffolk County Police.
