Long Island Man Apprehended After Threatening Officers During Standoff, Police Say A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly barricading himself in an apartment and threatening police officers following a fight with another person. The incident took place in Levittown around 3:40 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Kent Garden Apartments on Division Avenue. LI Man Sets Fire To House After Sending Texts To Family Members Threatening Self Harm A Long Island man threatened "suicide by cop" and ultimately set a house on fire when officers arrived to check on his welfare after his family reported that he had sent them text messages threatening to harm himself. Man Taken Into Custody After 16-Hour Suffolk County Standoff A man who barricaded himself inside a Long Island residence after a standout that lasted for hours, police said. It happened on Sunday, June 14 at about 3:30 p.m. in  Central Islip. The man entered the home and barricaded himself inside for approximately 16 hours, Suffolk County Police said. Armed Suffolk County Man Arrested After Hours-Long Standoff With Police A man who armed himself with what appeared to be a rifle and barricaded himself inside his Long Island residence for nearly four hours has been apprehended. The landlord for the property located in Rocky Point at 56 Shell Road called 911 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26 to report that her tenant, Damien Loecher, had locked himself inside the residence following a verbal dispute, Suffolk County Police said.
