Matt Pieciak posted a video of the moment on his Instagram page, writing: "A Great White Shark steals the fish off our line at Nauset Beach, Cape Cod." NBC Boston reported that the 25-year-old was fishing with friends on Sunday, Aug. 8, when he saw the rod start to bend. He said his cousin captured video as Pieciak tried to reel in the shark. Suffolk County Police were altered to the situation after a 911 caller reported four people stranded in an inflatable raft drifting out to sea at 10:17 p.m., Sunday, June 6 in Wading River. The body found at Cupsogue County Park around 1:20 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, has been identified as Joseph Rera, 16, of Center Moriches, said the Suffolk County Police. Rera was reported missing while fishing at the location on Friday, Nov. 6, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard said Rera was swept into the water near the Moriches Inlet while fishing near Dune Road. Video: Shark Caught Off Long Island Sound A man out for a little nighttime fishing on the Long Island Sound hooked a brown shark instead. Fisherman John Skinner, of Greenport, was fishing Saturday, Aug. 24, in Southold for bluefish when he hooked a large brown shark up against some rocks. A YouTube video shows the shark and the entire 20 minute battle with the fish.
