Long Island Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 49-Year-Old A 25-year-old Long Island resident was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a 49-year-old man. Deshawn Martin, of Hempstead, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, in Freeport and charged with first-degree murder in the January incident, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
