Woman Dies In Islip House Fire; Responders Slowed By 'Extreme Clutter'
A house fire on Long Island has left a woman dead. Emergency crews were called just after 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 after reports of a blaze at a two-story home in Islip, located on Boston Avenue near Brook Street, according to the Deer Park Fire Department. When firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Crews also reported “Collyers’ Mansion” conditions, a firefighting term used to describe homes that are so full of trash and debris that it slows down emergency responders.
